Have you heard this saying: when you feel it’s tough and tiring, it means you’re going uphill; when life feels easy, it means you’re going downhill.
When someone is in adversity, it means that every day in the future will gradually get better and move in a positive direction.
However, human willpower is limited, and it’s often difficult to realize this truth.
When life tosses you around and causes immense pain, you may lose hope for the future, confidence in people around you, and feel like you are nothing and nobody.
Escaping adversity is hard and requires great courage and willpower, but destroying willpower only takes a second.
Moving forward is extremely difficult, while giving up is incredibly easy.
But if you lose hope and confidence in the future during adversity, you will never escape it, and never reach the distant place you once hoped for.
If hope is always alive in your heart, even in adversity, you learn to struggle and fight against it. If you are brave enough and have exceptional willpower, you will eventually overcome adversity and carve out your own path.
So, when you encounter adversity in life, don’t forget, hope lies ahead.
Looking at those celebrities, whether scientists, politicians, or businessmen. They didn’t achieve success in one go with just one chance.
They constantly honed their willpower, encouraged themselves, and became brave and confident.
Even in adversity, they didn’t choose to give up but kept approaching their goals.
Because they understand that if they choose to give up, all their past efforts will be in vain. Their goals and expectations will also drift further away from them.
As long as you persist in your goal and keep getting closer to it, you will also become more excellent and less afraid of difficulties along the way.
Hope will not abandon you, but will be waiting for you ahead.
No matter how far hope seems, you will eventually encounter it.
I remember when I was in school, I wasn’t good at sports. I could only run up to a kilometer, couldn’t jump far, and don’t even mention shot put.
Before high school, it was fine as academics were the priority, and PE class was just a simple run and some stretching before dismissal.
But in college, PE class was different. Whether long-distance or short-distance running, or any other sport, it was all scheduled tightly, and the teacher supervised us, no chance to be lazy.
At the end of the semester, the teacher arranged a long-distance running test for us, 8 laps, 3200 meters, three times our usual training distance.
When we heard the teacher’s demand, us girls were frightened, thinking it was impossible. But the teacher insisted, saying that without completing the run, we would fail PE.
We had no choice but to run.
The boys finished quickly, but us girls still had several laps to go. It felt exhausting, but we had to persist. I just thought, as long as I was conscious, I had to keep going, even if I couldn’t run, I had to finish walking.
It took over 40 minutes to complete the 8 laps, but we persevered till the end, and hope was waiting for us ahead.
Though it was just a small thing, it taught me a great lesson and made me understand some truths.
As long as hope exists in your heart, as long as you are willing to persevere and not choose to give up, you will definitely achieve your goal.
In my subsequent life, whether it was the pressure from work or the pain from relationships, it didn’t defeat me, but made me stronger and more mature.
Whenever I’m about to lose hope in life, I think of that college run. If I could endure something so difficult, I can endure other things too, persevere, not give up, and always maintain hope.
Work gave me a lot of pressure, so I chose to work harder, spend more time learning, and improve my abilities.
In relationships, I chose to endure the pain, and with time, I became stronger.
When friends badmouthed me behind my back, I silently accepted it, but next time, I could tell if they were sincere, and wouldn’t get hurt again.
Isn’t life like this? It’s impossible to always be in favorable conditions, nor to have a smooth-sailing life.
At some point, in some place, or with someone, we will be hurt, hit, and even start doubting ourselves.
Since we can’t always be in favorable conditions, we also can’t always be in adversity.
As long as hope exists in our hearts, adversity will become a turning point in our lives, and even if we have suffered, it will enrich our life experience, make us braver, and more outstanding.
So, no matter what pain you’re enduring now, or how hard it seems to change your situation, remember: as long as you don’t give up, hope lies ahead; as long as you choose to move forward, adversity will soon be far away from you.
